The Election Commission of India has issued a condemnation against BJP MP Dilip Ghosh and Congress leader Supriya Shrinet for their derogatory remarks against women. The rebuke comes in the wake of the commencement of the Model Code of Conduct following the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates. Both politicians have engaged in a war of words, adding fervor to the ongoing campaign season.

In response to notices issued for violating the Model Code of Conduct, the Election Commission affirmed that Ghosh's remarks constituted a personal attack, breaching the established norms. Consequently, Ghosh has been barred from making public statements during the Model Code of Conduct period, with a stern warning to exercise caution.
